From June to August, NABA offers two-week intensive courses in the fields of Design, Fashion, Fine Arts, Multimedia Arts, Communication, Italian Culture in Milan and Rome.
You will be immersed in Italy’s thriving creative community through visits to museums, companies, production facilities, and design studios. Guided by skilled Italian and international professionals, you will explore trends in fashion and design and learn how to research and present a creative idea.
Upon successful completion of each 2-week summer course in Milan, in Rome as well as for the Two Cities, Double Experience programmes (45 hours), NABA will issue 3 CFA credits that can be transferred at the option of each student’s home university.

Milan Campus
The course is divided in two connected parts, both theoretical and practical. Students will acquire the basic knowledge about the available materials, structures and techniques of weaving and printing. They will also learn to evaluate the most appropriate techniques to be applied to a fabric and they will produce a mini project.

Students will gain knowledge of the different visual communication concepts and tools and will be guided through a path marked by both lectures and practical workshops in order to learn digital skills and the methods of visual representation.

The analysis of visual merchandising strategies for showrooms, concept stores, monobrand stores, and department stores, will be the key elements of this course, along with the study and understanding of the tools used to create a strategic language for fashion brands.

The course offers a well-structured path to develop curatorial projects, from the research and production of a concept, to its organisation and display, allowing students to acquire experience and confidence in expressing their work as well as knowledge of today's field.

This course focuses on the fashion industry through a business and management perspective, providing students the necessary tools to understand the dynamic context of Italian and international fashion business and its fundamentals such as fashion industry sourcing, supply chain, fashion buying cycle, vendor selection and fashion buying decision criteria, retail brand marketing, fashion industry, internationalisation of fashion retailing, international branding, and flagship stores.

This course aims at teaching students how to create video games using Unity 3D, a free-to-use game development engine, providing them the opportunity to develop 3D gaming experiences with sophisticated storylines, interactions, aesthetics, and technical aspects.

Two Cities, One Vision
While in Rome, students will discover and focus on haute couture, discovering the history and development of haute couture up-to-present-day role in the fashion industry. In Milan, students will focus on a social and cultural analysis of the Italian fashion industry, exploring the philosophies, styles, and business structures of some of the most iconic Italian fashion brands. Providing students an overview of the Italian design methodology, the course introduces them to the analysis of the elements of space, enabling them to focus specifically on interior design and to dive into intensive project works.

The course explores the process related to the production of a short film in the city of Rome, through field trips and practical laboratory experience. Participants will face the essential steps of writing, filming and editing to create an original documentary short film.
